The nettle – A true miracle!
Nettle does not only dehydrate if neccessary and detoxify but has also anti-inflammatory agents. The fact the small but strong plant also contains a lot of protein and minerals, such as calcium and iron, makes it a good ally against the pain.
The nettle grows in a wonderful abundance and can be harvested in long tufts wild or in the garden and then simply be dried. So you can prepare your own supply of dried leaves and don´t have to buy them.
Nettle has traditionally also been used for the production of beer and has long been a valuable raw material for the production of clothing. By some, the nettle fabric was regarded as even finer than cotton and linen and it was very popular. Ropes from nettle fibers were also appreciated for their durability and strength.
Against rheumatoid pain, nettle does not only help when taken internally: Many patients report that a gentle beat with fresh nettle leaves on affected body areas, such as inflamed joints, provides relief. If the burning of the nettle-leaves decreases, it takes the rheumatism with it.
Nettle tastes delicious as salad, as steamed vegetables or – of course – also as tea (tip: sweeten with honey)!
